Photographer Kevin McDaid
Kevin first came to fame as a teenager in 2004 in the boyband V. This thrust him right into the centre of the buzzing London music and celebrity scene. However, it wasn't long before Kevin's creativity became more fascinated by the world that surrounded him than to his life on stage. And so he swapped the microphone for the camera and so began a successful career as a professional photographer. Never far from the lens of the paparazzi Kevin McDaid became, by contrast, the photographer of choice for many bands, artists and celebrities over the last eight years. His empathetic understanding of the performers that he shoots differentiates Kevin from his peers. Always with a single minded objective of making his subject look the best they possibly can, his work has artistry but never artifice. His canon includes work for Jessie J, The Wanted, Westlife, Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora, Rizzle Kicks and Olly Murs. More recently he has been sought out by the world of classical music and Sport with commissions for Ji Liu to Max and Tom Chilton.
For the last 5 years kevin has also worked very closely with Global Radio who house many stations from Capital FM to Heart FM. He shoots everything from their National advertisting campaigns to high profile presenter portraits.
Kevin's photography can best be characterised as simple, clean but most of all sexy
Kevin McDaid is one of only a few professional photographers today who truly understands what it like to perform on both side of the lens.
